About Me

Thank you for visiting Sugarly Ever After! My name is Sabrina and I am a loud, sassy, southern girl who loves to bake, cook and craft. My friends joke and refer to me as an "old lady" because I would rather spend my time at home in the kitchen as opposed to going out. I love food - eating it, making it, coming up with new recipes (but mostly just eating food in general). I wanted to create a blog to document my favorite recipes and to share my love for food with those that mean the most to me. My foodie crush is Paula Deen. If you aren't down with Paula, we can't be friends. Cupcakes make me happy, I love elephants, and I adore anything Disney, particularly Cinderella and Minnie Mouse. I am a Disney princess at heart, and always will be. I wanted Sugarly Ever After to reflect both myself and the things in life I love the most. Fairy tale lovin' with some cupcakes and country flare thrown in.

Food holds a special place in my heart – mostly anything loaded with butter, sugar, coconut, chocolate...or all of the above. I think my food style is easy to define; I am a carboholic. Carbs stick to all the wrong places, but let's be honest, they taste so good! I have three favorite foods: Mac n’ cheese, cupcakes, and bread. I could literally live off of those three foods for the rest of my life if my waistline would allow for it. I cook and bake what I love, and I constantly feel the need to try new things in the kitchen. I have always been the type to enjoy a good challenge, and that is what every new recipe I attempt becomes for me!

When I was seventeen I weighed two hundred and five pounds. By the time I reached age twenty, I had lost over seventy pounds total. Losing that much weight at a young age was to date the hardest challenge of my life. I am so blessed to have made the decision to incorporate diet and exercise as a means to living a healthy lifestyle. I had an emotional addiction to food, and it was seriously damaging my health. I don't even know where I'd be today had I not made such a dramatic change. Weight has been a constant battle for me, and it more than likely always will be. I have learned that I must limit my portions and enjoy all food in moderation. I still eat the bad foods I love so much, I just make sure to eat less of them.

I am engaged to the absolute love of my life. Ryan proposed in front of Cinderella’s Castle during our spring break trip to Disney World on March 14, 2012. We have been in a relationship for almost two and a half years now, and are currently living together in Bradenton Florida. I had never been lucky in love until the day he came into my life. He is the most caring person I have ever known, and he continually goes out his way to keep a smile on my face. I never knew how to love myself until he found his way into my heart. Ryan truly makes me a better person and I am so incredibly thankful for that. We are getting married on October 18, 2013 and I could not be more excited to spend the rest of my life with such an amazing man!

I bake cupcakes and he eats them, and sometimes I smash them in his face. It was meant to be!

We have a boxer dog son named Motley. When I adopted him from the Florida Boxer Rescue in 2006 he was only thirty pounds and covered with gashes from being left in the streets by his previous owner. Seven years later he is eighty pounds of pure lap dog and kisses! Spoiled would be an understatement. He is a goof ball and has ruined MANY sets of mini-blinds, but we love our boy! Isn't he a cutie?

I graduated from the University of South Florida (go Bulls!) with my BS in Early Childhood Education. I am currently a kindergarten teacher and let me tell you, there is never a dull moment in Miss Poehl's classroom!

I apologize for the borderline novel I have written. Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a minute to discover a little more about me! Happy eatin' ya'll!
